Extensive experience designing for print, whether it be small, unusual giveaways, flyers, gifts or large, complex catalogues.

catalogue produced yearly and in several languages.
This involved liaison with Product Managers, Sales Teams and Subsidiary Offices as well as printers.
I managed each contributing team's schedule to ensure accurate content arrived on time and the catalogue could be launched successfully, globally. As well as all design and layout work I organised photoshoots for cover concepts. Other duties included liaising with printers, negotiating quotes, gathering multiple approvals across departments, preparing files for print and quality control throughout.

A selection of brochuresshowing consistent look and feel to help customers recognise a consistent brand across different product areas. I was heavily involved in all of these from organising and directing photoshoots to ensure relevant imagery was available to designing the over all look and feel, laying out content, negotiating proofing, quality checking, approvals and print production.

These special giveaways were finished with matt lamination and spot U.V. (a special ink giving an extra glossy effect to specific areas of the print).

Postcards created to be eye-catching and inferring 'gold standard' technology.

Brochures of 2 - 8 pages often use more dramatic images to gain more attention for the message while clean backgrounds reinforce the clinical nature of the products.

Printed materials - advertising

I have many years' experience in designing for print advertising.  Files are carefully prepared to each publication's specifications.

In order to create an attractive advertisement for OEM products I chose a child enjoying a Knickerbocker glory. The multi-layered dessert represents the various offerings of the OEM department and tells a simple tale of his happiness with his purchase.

Working with subsidiary offices I have translated many adverts and brochures to ensure consistent global messaging.

Printed materials - Branded packaging

The Optilite ribbon identifier was created to echo the product it signifies.

opti ribbon.jpg

The Optilite is an automated analyser and the ribbon's sinuous shape infers continuous movement and flexibilty, the multiple strands represent multi-tasking ability. The grey was matched to the machine's lid colour, red was a corporate colour keeping consistency across product ranges.

The ribbon identifier was used across all marketing material, packaging and corporate gifts making each a part of a cohesive package.
